Outdoor living
We wanted to create a unique outdoor experience to enjoy the trees and views. It is unique to have such amazing views of the golf course and redwood forest. The afternoon setting sun illuminates the emerald green grass of the Baywood Golf Course, and the fog can often be seen rolling over the distant mountains, creating a peaceful and rejuvenating experience.
The backyard patio has 1200 ft2 stamped concrete with an outdoor kitchen with a bar top to enjoy your Grill Masters creations.
Adjacent to the grilling space is a 7 person hot tub, which is so fun to relax under the trees.
And next to the hot tub is a unique gas fire pit with a surrounding concrete table that was custom created with handmade steel logs and steel pine cones. The table is large enough to see 8-10 people and is a great spot to enjoy dinner and drinks. The fire pit has views of the golf course and redwood trees. It will be your favorite gathering spot after hiking in our majestic coastal forests.
The patio also has a corn hole game custom-made from redwood to go along with the theme.
The stairs lead you from the patio and past a gigantic old-growth redwood stump to the terraced grass turf area. Here you will find the kid's favorite spot, with a swing and space to play soccer, bad mitten, or volleyball.
A deck area is just above the grass and is a great spot to enjoy the view of your kids playing the night away.
The lighting sets the mood with 400 feet of string lights that make the entire backyard accessible in the dark of night.
A trail leads to the top of the property, with another deck overlooking the Golf course.
Four hammocks are strung between Redwoods, and resting under the massive redwoods is so relaxing and peaceful.
The house
Baywood was initially built in the 60s and has seen a lot of love over the years. We wanted to modernize the house and create an open concept.
The house is Tri-Level, and the game room, which you can use as a 6th bedroom if you have a large group, is on the right as you enter the front door. This room has a cozy couch, a pool table, and a 65-inch TV. A queen murphy bed that folds down is a comfortable room that the teens will love. There is a curtain divider that you can use to separate the bedroom from the pool table area.
This room also has a bathroom with a toilet and shower.
The stairs lead you to the main level of the house. The bedroom on the right has a queen bed and a massive 8-foot window that provides views of the yard. This room also has a skylight, so you can see the treetops while lying in bed. There is a 55-inch internet TV as well.
Past the bedroom is the great room. This has an open concept with the kitchen. The couch and Yogiba bean bags are super relaxing for enjoying a movie on the 85-inch TV mounted above the fireplace.
The gourmet kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for your chefs to create their masterpieces. Cooking is an integral part of the vacation experience, and this kitchen will not disappoint. A large dining table also in this space will seat 8-10 people. The kitchen / great room has lovely views of the golf course. You can watch the golfers driving balls toward the house, with an occasional ball making its way to the front yard. This action from the golf course offers exciting people-watching. The clubhouse has a bar and restaurant and is a short walk from the house.
The Great Room opens to one of my favorite spots, the covered sun porch. She is another dining area and a great spot to enjoy your morning coffee.
The sun porch leads you to the bunk room. Your kids will love this spot! A TV, electric fireplace, and windows surround you, so you feel like you are in a treehouse!
Back into the main house is the third level, which has three additional bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Master Bedroom and bath- this room has a king bed and spa-like master bath.
Bedroom 2- king bed, internet TV and is an excellent area to get any work done with a desk.
Bedroom 3- king bed, internet TV
Bathroom 2- dual vanity sink, bathtub, wall-to-wall tile
A small cottage on the property can serve as a 7th bedroom for larger groups. The cottage has a queen bed and a lovely view out the window of a sizeable old-growth redwood stump. The cottage is tucked off the main driveway, approximately 50 feet from the house. There is no bathroom, so please be prepared to go to the main house. There is a mini fridge for water and drinks. This is an enjoyable spot to enjoy for the adventurous in your group.

Neighborhood overviewImagine sitting on the covered patio, sipping your morning coffee, and watching the deer in the distance. Emerald green grass is in full view, as the Baywood Golf Course surrounds the property.
The house is located on Baywood Ln, which is a private road. Because this is a private road, we ask guests not to walk further up the hill to the neighbor's homes. You can walk to the left out of the driveway and go left or right for a nice stroll around the golf course
Baywood Country Club is a private course. If you are interested in golf, please let us know and we can see if it is possible to get you on the course. The official rule is that the member needs to be with the guest but we have found calling the pro shop with reservations can often work.
A short drive from the house is Murphys Supermarket for stocking up on supplies (2 miles)

1. Sunny Brae Trail Head #1- more details are found online. This is 1.3 miles from the house and is a great spot for hiking in the redwoods.
2. Arcata Plaza- 3.4 Mi- great spot for restaurants, bars, and shopping

4. Moonstone Beach- 18 mi, amazing beach that is a safe place for kids to swim. It has a river that flows to the ocean
5. Clam Beach- 13 mi
6. Humboldt Beach- 7 miles
7. Arcata Bay- the bay is massive and is only a couple of miles from the house, which keeps the climate cooler in the summers
8. Redwood National /State Park- 35 Miles, There are Redwood walks within a couple of miles from the house, but a trip to Redwood National Park is well worth the drive. This is heading North on the 101
9. Avenue of the Giants- 40 miles, this is simply amazing. The Avenue of The Giants is a road paralleling the main highway that allows you to see the giant trees right from the car. But a walk into one of the famous groves will lead you to some of the largest trees on the planet
10 Klamoth- 50 miles, a great spot to take a thrilling ride on the Jet Boats up the river. There are also the trees of mystery
11. Trinidad- 18 miles, great coastal town with a safe beach for the kids
12. Sequoia Park Zoo- 9 miles, in Eureka, and they just opened a Redwood Canopy Walk. It is a really cool suspended walkway, 100 feet above the forest floor. It is a small zoo but worth seeing for a few hours.
13. Shelter Cove- 95 Miles, this is a committed day trip and is worth combining with the Avenue of the Giants.
